Ingredients

Ground golden flax seeds
Water
Almonds (soaked overnight, rinsed and drained)
Rosemary, chopped fine
Himalayan Salt and fresh ground pepper to taste

Health information

Almonds are rich in fiber, vitamin E, calcium, magnesium and potassium. With these nutritional benefits, almonds aid with constipation, respiratory disorders, coughs, heart disorders, anaemia and diabetes. They also help in the maintenance of healthy hair, skin and dental care.

Flax seeds are known to be a great source of soluble and insoluble fiber. It is also a source of essential Omega 3 oils which are good for the heart. Flax seed also contains a compound called lignans which is a source of antioxidants (cancer fighting properties) and plant-based estrogen.

Almond Cracker

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Cups Almonds Soaked overnight and drained
  • 4 Tbsp Flax Meal
  • 4 Tbsp Nutritional Yeast
  • 1/2 tsp Salt Or more to taste
  • Black Pepper To taste
  • 1/2 - 1 Cup Water Adjust as needed
  • 3 Tbsp Rosemary Fresh (Chopped)

Instructions
 

  • Place the almonds, flax meal, nutritional yeast, salt and pepper into the blender jug and blend / pulse the ingredients to combine
  • Drizzle 1/2 cup water and process for a minute or two, add more water as needed to create an easily spreadable consistency (not liquidy, but not at all pasty)
  • Spread the mixture on a solid sheet of the dehydrator
  • Dehydrate at 45 degrees for 4 hours
  • Score the crackers into the desired shapes and dehydrate for another 8 hours, or overnight
  • Break the crackers apart, flip them over, and dehydrate for another hour
  • Makes around 35 crackers (depending on size)
